Netanyahu Indicted on Bribery Charges

Former Prime Minister Faces Up to Ten Years in Prison

Jerusalem, Israel (November 21, 2019)

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was formally indicted on bribery and corruption charges on Thursday, November 21, 2019. The charges stem from three separate cases and carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.

Netanyahu is accused of accepting bribes, including cash, from wealthy businessmen in exchange for favorable treatment. He is also accused of using his position to advance the careers of his associates and family members.

Netanyahu has denied the charges and has vowed to fight them in court. He has also accused the judiciary of being politically motivated and out to get him.

The indictment is a major setback for Netanyahu, who has been in power for the past 10 years. It is unclear whether he will be able to remain in office if he is convicted.
