HBO has officially announced the release date and schedule for the highly anticipated second season of its hit fantasy series "House of the Dragon." Season 2 is set to premiere on Sunday, June 2024, at 9:00 PM EST (6:00 PM PST) on both HBO and HBO Max.

The eight-episode season will follow the continuing saga of House Targaryen in the lead-up to the Targaryen civil war known as the "Dance of the Dragons." Each episode will air on a weekly basis, with the season finale scheduled for early August 2024.

The announcement was made at the Warner Bros. Discovery Investors Day presentation, where streaming and gaming boss J.B. Perrette confirmed the release date. "House of the Dragon" has been a critical and commercial success for HBO, with the first season averaging over 29 million viewers per episode.
